Try and google the “Toaster House” + Pie Town, NM. It is this amazing place where Nita opens her house (where she or no one else longer lives) to strangers traveling all across the country on bikes, feet, cars, etc.
We stayed there and ate pie from Kathy’s restaurant, The Pie-O-Neer and played music all night. Kathy, Nita, co-workers and all 15 hikers just shot the shit all night long.
I haven’t had an honest night like that in a long time.
